Medical Conditions Covered
Every child’s circumstances and conditions are unique, so each child who is referred for Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care at Sproutlings is evaluated for appropriate care and prequalified for services. Children considered for admission will be medically stabilized and require continual nursing care.
Conditions may include:
- Genetic Disorders (Marfan’s Syndrome, Angelman’s Syndrome, Wolf Hirschhorn’s Syndrome, Williams Syndrome)
- Respiratory Disorders (chronic lung disease, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, severe asthma)
- Nervous System Disorders (seizures, para/quadriplegia, shaken baby syndrome, hydrocephalus, spinal cord injury)
- Gastrointestinal Disorders (reflux, short gut syndrome)
- Metabolic Disorders (diabetes, biliary atresia)
- Renal Disease (reflux, nephrotic syndrome)
- Developmental Delay (birth injury/trauma)
- Cerebral Palsy
- Spina Bifida/Myelomeningocele
- Intellectual Disabilities
- Visual Impairment (blindness, retinopathy of prematurity)
